The Magic Magnetic Strip on Credit Cards
The strip on the back of a credit card is a thin sliver of material that holds lots of important information about you and your credit card. Referred to as a “magstripe” or “magstrip” this thin film is full of tiny magnetic bits of iron – similar to those that store data on a computer disc or hard drive. When the card is swiped the data stored in those minute particles of magnetized iron are read, providing the merchant with the details necessary to run your credit
